What is the Political Courage Test?

Georgia State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
No c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
I focus on protecting and advocating for the LIFE OF A WOMAN as a breathing, living human being. A person extremely capable of making the difficult decisions needed as it pertains to her body. Being pro-choice doesn't mean being pro-abortion, it means being PRO-WOMAN and protecting her right to CHOOSE. Having full confidence that women can and will make the best decision for their life. I support certain limits: - Underage service requires parental consent unless evidence of abuse is presented - fully support the already set limits within Roe vs. Wade

1) Budget Stabilization:Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing Georgia's budget.

No a) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
No b) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?
No c) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients?
Yes d) An income tax increase on any tax bracket?
I support medicaid expansion in Georgia. This is funded by our hard earned federal taxes which we pay every year. Will bring billions in new job opportunities and provide proper healthcare facilities and services throughout our state. Tax reduction = less money to fund education for our children; Less money to provide affordable higher education options for our families to get new skills for jobs of the future! We must invest in education K-16!
Yes a) Do you support any limits on campaign contributions to state candidates?
Yes b) Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Yes c) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes d) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
- Redistricting should absolutely be handled by a bipartisan commission. Voters should choose who their representatives are at every level of government, not government officials choosing who their voters will be. This is one of the foundational principles of our country. A bipartisan effort will protect the redistricting efforts to ensure that it remains "We the people", not 'we the government', or 'we the corporations' or 'we the lobbyists.'
No a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
No c) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
No d) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
- Immigration laws should continue to be handled by our U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which enforces federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration to promote homeland security and public safety. - State and local police should continue focusing on reducing crime, ensuring the safety of our citizens and building trust in partnership within our communities.
